AFC-Holcroft has one of the most diverse product lines in the heat treat equipment industry. We are fully equipped to design, manufacture, ship, install, and service all types of custom and standard heat treat systems.
AFC-Holcroft is a privately held company, headquartered in Wixom, Michigan, USA. Our state-of-the-art facility is not only our engineering hub for global business, but also has a large manufacturing facility, custom built for the construction of heat treatment equipment.

Our History
Atmosphere Furnace Company was established in 1962.
In October of 1996, we acquired Pacific Industrial Furnace Co. (PIFCO), a division of Detrex, and consolidated their operations with ours in Wixom, Michigan. PIFCO was established in 1930 and has been very strong in the foundry, forge and aluminum industries.
In April of 1999, we acquired Therm Alliance, a privately owned company located in Detroit, Michigan. Therm Alliance was established in 1985, but the family managing the company has been in the heat treat business since 1914.
In March of 2000, AFC purchased Holcroft, a privately held furnace company located in Livonia, Michigan. Holcroft has been building furnaces since 1916.
AFC-Holcroft continues to support each and every piece of equipment produced under the banner of any of our acquired companies. We store and maintain thousands of original design drawings dating back to the early 1900's, and our parts and service team can advise you of any design improvements that have been implemented since the installation of your furnace equipment, insuring that you have the safest, most efficient repair/replacement solution.
Even though each of our acquired companies (Holcroft, PIFCO, Therm Alliance, Dow Furnace, Standard Fuel Engineering) will continue to service their respective customers as they have done in the past, our products are marketed under the name of AFC-Holcroft.

ALD-Holcroft
In 2005 we formed a joint venture company with ALD Vacuum Technologies of Hanau, Germany, called ALD-Holcroft (www.ald-holcroft.com). ALD is a world-renowned company in the field of vacuum equipment and has been in business for over 60 years. Our combined expertise will provide our customers with a single source for their heat treat equipment requirements. ALD-Holcroft serves the North American market with this technology.
Atmosphere Heat Treating
